Dress Code

School attire is expected to reflect children’s mental and physical preparedness for the business of learning.
When students are not dressed appropriately for school, the parent will be notified and asked to bring a
change of clothing.
General
Information
All clothing items and accessories may not contain vulgar, derogatory,
or suggestive diagrams, pictures, slogans, or words that may be
interpreted as racially, religiously, ethnically, or sexually offensive.
Clothing that promotes alcohol, tobacco, or drug usage or displays
weapons or violence is not allowed. Student dress may not be symbolic
of threatening behavior, harassment, or discrimination. Any clothing
which causes or is likely to cause a disruption within the school
learning environment is not allowed. Students will be asked to either
cover up the shirt, or call home for a change of clothing.
Pants, Skirts,
and Shorts
● No pants or shorts worn below the waist or purposely sagging.
● Pants must completely cover undergarments. Underwear may not
be visible above the pants waistband.
● Dresses, skirts, shorts and skorts need to be longer than the
extended tip of the longest finger with arms hanging naturally at the
sides. Holes in pants should be below the fingertips or have
leggings underneath.
● No bicycle shorts or skin-tight work-out shorts.
● No pajama pants or other sleepwear.
Tops ● The display of cleavage is not permitted.
● Straps on shirts must be at least two finger-widths
● Bra straps should not be showing.
● Shirts must be long enough that the tummy/midriff is not showing.
Footwear ● Safe shoes with heel straps must be worn at all times. Crocs must
utilize back straps.
● No Healys or skate shoes (tennis shoes with detachable wheels),
bare feet, flip-flops, slides, shower shoes, bedroom slippers,
stocking feet, socks only, or cleats.
Hats & Head
Coverings
● Hats may be worn outdoors.
Jewelry,
Makeup and
Nails
● Students may wear earrings, watches, and necklaces that surround
the neckline. Long chains and necklaces are not allowed. Earrings
should not dangle more than one inch.
● Jewelry or other items which could be regarded or used as a
weapon are not allowed (studded belts, studded bracelets, or
studded necklaces, dog choke chains, wallet chains, large rings)
● Makeup is not allowed until middle school
● Students may paint their nails, but fake nails are not allowed.
