Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!

 

Union House and I are so excited about this year.  We are back to a full slate of regular programs and parent activities which are rooted in our core values.  Number one is excellent instruction:  we are an AVID school and our focus this year is on teaching our students to ask and answer high-level questions, an increased focus on academic intervention, and a strong afterschool program.  Second, is Positive Climate:  we continue to foster a positive learning climate through PBIS, our socio-emotional learning program, manners, and recess coaches.  Third, is Collaboration:  our teachers work together with administration and meet regularly to review student progress.  Fourth is Equity:  we work to positively recognize the contributions of all of our cultures and to make sure that all of our students have equitable access to learning.  Finally, we strive for strong Family and Community Engagement:  please join us and our terrific PTO at our exciting events: Back to School Night, Harvest Festival, Bring Your Parents to School Days, and Multicultural Night. 

 

Please don’t be a stranger and come and say hello.  You’ll find me in the MP Room, on the yard, and in the parking lots.  I encourage you to let me know your needs and how I can help.
